A childhood dream to save animals has turned into serious support for the treatment, rehabilitation and release of Australian wildlife.

Toby Mitchell, now 15 years old, has donated a remarkable grand total of $17,095 to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. It’s thanks to people like Toby our hospital team gets to continue doing an incredible job at caring for wildlife in need and we couldn’t be more grateful.

The Story of Toby

It all started when Toby was 8 years old during a visit to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. On that day, he visited the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital from the public viewing area. He was mesmerised by the operations.

After this experience, Toby held a bake sale and purchased two new surgical kits for the team at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

Toby has been unstoppable with his fundraising mission ever since and has published wildlife books, created his own calendars, and even hand-painted pot plants.

The latest fundraising adventure was Toby’s Christmas Market Stall where he raised $2000 for wildlife.

Each January, Toby’s family drive all the way from Sydney to hand-deliver Toby’s donation.

This trip supports Toby’s dream of one day becoming a wildlife vet and he spends the morning with Dr Andrew Hill.

An Inspiration For All

Toby Mitchell is an incredible force for wildlife, and our vet team hopes Toby’s mission inspires the next generation of wildlife advocates.
